The Gift of Mortality

Death is a gift. Mortality is a blessing. Christians believe in life. Scriptures teach us to choose life, value, and love life. Death, we’re taught, is the result of sin. But there are some positive aspects to this ultimate reality. Because death is a deadline, it serves as a great motivator. Since we have expiration dates, we’d better move along with purposing our lives. Jerome Crabb said, “Dying is like getting audited by the IRS – something that only happens to other people… until it happens to you.” Death makes everyone equal. All share the same fate. No amount of money, power, or fame changes that. Death makes life very real.
