The goal of many people is to live “the good life.” What that means is defined by their own expectations. It may involve a certain size house, particular model of car, or brand of clothing. But, is living the good life a good enough life to live? Less materialistic people choose to live a good life instead of the good life. That sounds nobler, but what does that mean? Again, each person defines that by their own standards. It may involve lots of travel or checking off a bucket list of experiences. But again, is living a good life a good enough life to live?
I believe the purpose of life is a life of purpose. A life of purpose is the only life good enough to live. It doesn’t require the gathering of things or experiences to be called good. The purposeful life is decided instead by the needs of others. It’s measured by the amount of good done and the accumulation of positively changed lives.
