Up with Hate

Why are so many people down on hate? These haters of hate act like we should never hate anything – ever. It’s all about love and peace and tolerance. Yes, I agree. Love, peace, and tolerance make this a better place to live. I’m all for it. But, I also believe there are some things we should hate – some things that must be hated. Hate has its place. Hate has a role. But hate must always serve the purpose of love. Hate that stands apart from love is unhealthy, dangerous, and evil. For example, I love my children, and because I love my children, I hate anything that would harm them. This is healthy. Hate in the service of love protects, guards, and defends. We should hate the things that should be hated because we love the things that should be loved.
