Millions suffer from a chronic and sometimes debilitating condition. It affects every ethnic group, income level, and age. This condition is negatively affecting their psychological and emotional well-being and can result in health issues as well, but it goes largely undiagnosed. This mostly preventable disorder occurs during the formative years of childhood or adolescence and its symptoms will continue to grow in severity throughout their adult life. It’s called the Fatherhood Wound – caused when a father is physically or emotionally absent from their child’s life. It begins with the pain of rejection and if left untreated develops into a variety of problems: anger, depression, sexual disorders, relationships problems, insecurity. About half of all children today will go through some of their childhood without their daddy. There are many reasons, but the results are the same – a lasting wound.
