They Always Want More

Notice the countless recommendations, starting on page 3, of the CWLA, 2024 Legislative Agenda, titled, Congress must: increase, strengthen, expand, create, ensure, extend, fund, require. Notice anything? Every recommendation is about the system, as if it was a factory that needs to increase its output in order to keep up with demand. More. More. More. A million more kids have fallen into poverty since Covid (bad news), but there are fewer kids in foster care (good news). The latter is due to the increased focus on kinship care, and that is what needs to be increased, strengthened, expanded, funded, and required.
