Be Aware

Since who we are dictates what we see and think, we can’t always trust our perceptions. How things look, and how things feel, is not always the way things really are. We all judge the “facts” through biased filters. For recovering orphans, that filter is our childhood trauma. So, the best thing we can do is surround ourselves with trustworthy people who will challenge our assumptions, critique our ideas, and give us other perspectives.
