The Little Rascals films of the 1930’s were short comedies based on the sheer absurdity of children imitating adult behavior: dressing like adults, talking like adults, being interested in adult things. It was funny – then. No one is laughing anymore. Today, toddlers are wearing suggestive clothing in order to win the Tiara. The language of many eight-year-olds is filled with adult content and adult language. Twelve year olds are not just talking about sex in general, but in specific and graphic detail. The real dishonor in all of this comes from the so called grown-ups who should know better: parents, for example, who force their children to act adult-like because they’re too childish to be like an adult, corporations who pimp adult products and inappropriate entertainment to children in order to make a quick buck, and certain educators who think they can win a future political victory by indoctrinating five-year-olds with how to think about adult issues. They’re the big rascals.
